A well-known chalk figure in the UK is being updated with fresh chalk. The drawing is famous for being a bit “rude,” and it has become part of local views. However, weather is a problem. Rain can fade chalk and make the lines less clear. To protect it, National Trust staff and volunteers will apply 17 tonnes of new chalk. They will carefully cover the outline of the figure so it looks sharp again. The goal is to stop it from fading too quickly and to keep it visible for visitors. This kind of work is common for chalk figures, because they depend on careful maintenance and good timing.
