Repairs Begin On Helvellyn Mountain Path After Decades

Repairs have begun on a mountain path at Helvellyn, marking the first major work on the route since the 1980s, according to BBC Science & Environment. Crews plan to restore sections of the trail that have deteriorated from years of use and harsh weather. To rebuild the path, they will bring in large amounts of stone designed to make the ground more stable and durable. Because the location is remote and access by road is limited, the project relies on air transport. A helicopter will be used to move over 100 tonnes of stone to the site, allowing workers to bring in heavy materials without damaging the surrounding area.
