Jellyfish Cause Partial Shutdown At French Nuclear Plant

Jellyfish have forced a partial shutdown at a nuclear power station in northern France. The plant is located in Gravelines. According to reports, jellyfish entered the cooling water system. When this happens, the plant may have to reduce or stop operations to protect equipment and keep the process safe. As a result, part of the station was closed temporarily. This is the second consecutive year that jellyfish have led to the closure of the Gravelines power station. The repeat event suggests that conditions in the sea are allowing more jellyfish to appear near the plant.
