Sport can be good for mental health. It may help people feel calmer, more confident, and less stressed. BBC Sport’s Nesta McGregor asked well-known athletes how sport has supported their mental well-being. This discussion took place when a new mental health toolkit was launched. The toolkit is called On Your Side. It was created by the Prince of Wales and the Royal Foundation. The aim is to give practical support and raise awareness about mental health. By hearing from sports stars, the toolkit shows that exercise and teamwork can play an important role. It also encourages people to talk about mental health in everyday life.
