If your flight is cancelled or delayed, you may be protected by rules. A common reason is problems with air traffic control, which can stop many flights. Start by checking what the airline says in emails, apps, or at the airport, and note the time changes. For delays, airlines may provide support such as food, drinks, hotel rooms, or local transport, especially when the delay is long. For cancellations, you should usually receive a choice: a new flight to your destination, or a refund. In some situations, you may also be able to claim compensation. Save all proof, like boarding passes, booking confirmations, and receipts for extra costs.
