Hawaii is getting ready for a possible hurricane. It could hit the islands directly for the first time in 34 years. People on the Big Island are watching the storm closely. The hurricane is called Lala. It may be a category one storm. In the worst case, it could bring very heavy rain. Some areas could get up to 25 inches of rain. That is about 63 centimeters. The rain can cause flooding and dangerous water. Officials are asking people to prepare now and follow safety rules.
