Two famous writers and a sports star got big honors in the UK. Malorie Blackman, who wrote “Noughts & Crosses,” was made a dame. Julia Donaldson, who created the “Gruffalo,” was also made a dame. This is a special award from the government. In the same honours list, a rugby league star was knighted. That means he got a title for his work and public life. Many people in the arts and sports say this is a proud moment.
